Settlement Chain

Settlement chain refers to the chain where all the transactions are settled and recorded permanently. It ensures the accurate and irreversible completion of transactions and plays a crucial role in maintaining the integrity and transparency of the platform, acting as the ultimate ledger for all transaction activities.

At GasYard we will be using the Arbitrum as our settlement chain. We have come to this decision after very through discussions on why to choose this chain in place of any other as our settlement chain. Here are some of our conclusions

  • Arbitrum maps all requests of bridging across the platform and acts as a 2FA mechanism where the event emitted is checked for any sudden price fluctuations and also for security on the verifier nodes.

  • By taking this approach, we will bear the increased cost for bridging but this would increase transparency and keep the data public at all times which are the basis of our operations here. In the future, we would also try to support NonEVM networks so that bridging would be supported across networks.

  • One more reason for choosing Arbitrum is the very low block time and the stability it provides.

Even though we are using Arbitrum as a settlement chain because of the above conclusions, but we are always listening to the community and if there are better chains for the platform then we are open to switching to them as well.
