Finality & Faults Tolerance

Finality

Finality refers to the point at which transactions or blocks in a blockchain are considered immutable or irreversible.

We are planning to achieve finality on the basis of collateral value. For collaterals below a threshold we take the finality risks assuming the transaction won't be reversed and process bridging with just soft finality or block creation whereas for collaterals above a threshold we compromise on time by focusing on security and wait for block confirmation varying from 6 to 12 based on network and collateral values also we aim to use address reputation to optimize the process further.

Fault Tolerance

In instances where a bridge request is delayed due to insufficient liquidity, relayer downtime, or rejection caused by price fluctuations, the system will automatically retry the request at 5-minute intervals. If the request continues to fail, it will be escalated to manual review. The team will then determine the most suitable course of action, either initiating a full refund to the source or forcefully executing the request based on the circumstances.
